2996 Memorial

I found this site via Sarah's blog. This year will mark the 5th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The intention of the 2996 project is to remember each of the 2996 innocent victims of 9/11. I've signed up and received the name of the victim I will honor by posting a tribute to his life on my blog on 9/11/06. If you don't have a blog you can sign up anyway and post a tribute to the project blog. 1196 more people need to sign up to ensure that each victim is honored.

Thanks for posting this info. I just signed up. I can't believe it has been five years already.

Lou -- Mom and Brother made it safe and sound. I knew in my heart they would, but I admit I had a few butterflies.

From what I understand, the Koran, like the Bible, has some pretty nasty and violent bits. I think what's more important is how the people apply the book's lessons to their lives. In 2006, Christians seem much better at focusing on the good parts of the Bible than Muslims are at ignoring the jihad parts of the Koran.

But that's just my two cents. I look forward to reading your tribute on 9/11.
