I managed to snap a picture of A's mittens as she was running out the door to school this morning. The pattern is from Robin Hansen's Knit Mittens! book. While these mittens were lots of fun to knit and I really like the end result there were a few errors in the pattern. The worst (for me) was the error in the chart that I didn't discover until several rows after I had knit it into the SECOND mitten. The error was only on one side of the chart but in my knitting efficiency I knit the error symmetrically into the design. Oh well. I still like the mittens. They are a little bit big for A but she'll get lots of use out of them next year (I hope!)

Faire Isle Mittens
I used Plymouth Galway yarn from my stash and size 3 dpns. Normally, Galway takes a size 6 or 7 needle so the size 3 made a nice dense fabric. It would be too stiff for a sweater but it's perfect for toasty warm mittens.
I'm still working on K's Easter capelet. I'm almost done. I just have to knit the buttonhole band and then weave in ends and block. A's Easter capelet is next. Then back to my Swing coat.

Those are gorgeous! And you know you're the only one who'll notice the mistake :). I wonder if there's an erratum somewhere?
