I finally got my sockapal2za socks underway... sort of. At least I have all the materials assembled in my possession. So here's what I've done so far...
You might remember that I was undecided about what to knit for my sock pal. As hard as I tried and as much as I obsessed I couldn't come up with a plan. Well, it took a bit of time and a lot of web surfing but I finally found the perfect pattern. I ordered it and it finally arrived. Then I needed to find just the right yarn. I couldn't find it anywhere so figured I could dye it myself.
I started with three of these
I added a little of this
and a little of that
and just a pinch of the other thing
cooked it all up in the soup pot(s) and ended up with these!
Now I'm ready to start knitting my sock pal's socks! Well, just as soon as I knit up a baby sweater for a shower this Sunday! I wonder if I have just the right yarn...

Don't you love dyeing? I have some wool coming in this week and I can't wait to get the dye pots started. Yours are lovely. Did the knitpicks yarn dye easily?
Fire colors are my personal favorite at the moment, so I have to say that sock yarn rocks. Was the dyeing fun? Was it messy?
